Every Day Is Kerbala wristbands now available

The HIC Youth team is pleased to announce that we will be selling of "Every day is Kerbala" wristbands at the Husseini Islamic Center during the last 5 days of Ashre-Zainabiyya., at a cost of $2 each  We strongly encourage all members to purchase these, with all proceeds going towards the youth retreat event being planned in the coming months (further details on this will be available in the coming weeks).  Wristbands will be available at tables outside on both sides, and from brother Sameerali Jessa in the mens side, or sister Sabira Hudda in the ladies side.

Canned Food Drive

The HIC Youth Girls, in the name of Humanity and with the mission of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in mind, launched a Canned Food drive during the 12 days of Muharram. It was a great motivation to have ladies, youths, and even young children, bring in canned foods to donate to the homeless in good time for their Holidays. We collected a total of 229 cans, bottles, and boxed foods. The youths competed with the adults to see who would bring in more, and of course, the youths won! We thank all those who contributed to this great humanitarian cause.

Discussions with Shaykh Jaffer

Alhamdulillah this Muharram, in the year 1431, was quite inspirational for the members of Orlando, with Shaykh Jaffer Ali Ladak of Milton Keynes visiting. We had great motivational lectures as well as question/answer sessions that allowed many youths to express their concerns and views, as well as hear the Islamic perspective on different topics.

Inshallah, we shall be posting the questions asked with their corresponding responses to the website soon.
